Short version: AskBetter does not run a hosted AI backend, does not sell your data, and does not require an AskBetter account.
TL;DR
- AskBetter stores provider keys locally in iOS Keychain.
- Saved prompts, settings, and chat history stay on your device.
- When you send a prompt, it goes directly to the provider or endpoint you configured.
- AskBetter does not run an app proxy, account system, ad network, or AI request backend.
What AskBetter stores
- Provider keys in iOS Keychain.
- Local app settings, selected provider, model choices, and saved prompts.
- Optional local chat history if you choose to keep it in the app.
What AskBetter does not store
- No AskBetter cloud account.
- No AskBetter-hosted AI requests.
- No user analytics profile, cookies, advertising ID, or stored IP address.
- No data brokerage, resale, or ad targeting.
Website analytics
The public website records anonymous aggregate analytics for pageviews, referrer host, page path, device category, browser category, and UTM campaign fields. It does not use cookies or store IP addresses. Daily rotating visitor hashes are used only to count aggregate visitors.
Third-party providers
AskBetter works with third-party AI providers and custom endpoints only after you add your own credentials or connection details. Those services apply their own terms, privacy policies, retention windows, and safety systems.
